Vendor registration identifies the organization holding a block, not a specific device model, product line, or manufacturing date. This page combines every block IEEE has registered under this exact organization name; it doesn't mean every address in every listed block is currently shipping in a real device.

Randomized MAC addresses
iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch use a private Wi-Fi address by default (iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and watchOS 7 or later): a different, random address for each Wi-Fi network. These addresses set the locally administered bit, so they start with a second digit of 2, 6, A or E and do not match any Apple prefix. The setting can be turned off per network, and then the device shows its real Apple-registered address.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my iPhone's MAC address not match Apple's prefixes?
Because of the private Wi-Fi address feature. It substitutes a random, per-network address, so a lookup of that address finds no vendor. Turning it off for a network reveals the real address.
Does an Apple prefix guarantee an Apple-made device?
It means the address was assigned from a block IEEE registered to Apple. Accessories and third-party products made under license can also appear, so treat it as strong evidence, not proof.
